A bank statement is used to prove funds: for a visa, a residence permit, a university place, a tenancy or a purchase. Written in the bank's language, with its own transaction labels and codes, it must be translated by a certified translator before an office will read it. Our translators restore the tables line by line, in the original currency.
Proving your funds: the files concerned
The Home Office (UKVI) asks for translated statements in student, visitor and family applications to check that the applicant has enough money, usually over a set period before the application. Universities request them as proof of financial capacity, landlords and letting agents for a tenancy. In the United States, USCIS, consulates and colleges ask for financial evidence in many cases. Abroad, a British or American statement, translated, supports visa applications to many countries or a residence request based on resources.
What the translation of a statement contains
The translator reproduces the bank's heading, the holder's name and address, the account number, the period covered, opening and closing balances, then each transaction line: date, description, debit or credit amount, balance. Abbreviated labels specific to the bank are explained in square brackets. Amounts stay in the currency of the statement; no conversion is added, because the office applies its own rate. The table keeps the structure of the original, and each page receives the certified translator's stamp.
Files to send and choosing the pages
Download the statement as a PDF from your online banking: it is legible and carries the bank's name on each page. Avoid app screenshots, which are often cut off and lack a header. Ask the authority how many months it wants, generally three to six, and send only those. If it accepts a balance letter, that single page replaces dozens of statement pages. Do not hide transactions: a redacted statement is refused.

Avoiding a request for more papers
The name on the statement must match the passport exactly, and the latest statement should generally be less than a month old. If the funds come from a sponsor, translate their statement and their letter of support, not only your own.

Which authority or institution accepts this translation?
The Home Office requires it for a work visa, and banks and landlords as proof of income; in the United States, USCIS and banks require it. A certified translation is accepted by all these bodies.
How many pages does a bank statement come to?
The number of pages depends directly on the period the authority requests, often three to six months of statements, which can mean several pages per month depending on how many transactions there are. The final quote is calculated once we've received your documents so we can give you an exact price.
Do you need the original statements, or is a PDF export enough?
A PDF export downloaded from your online banking is perfectly fine — there's no need for a paper original. Just check that the PDF clearly shows the bank's name and the account holder on every page.
Are complex transaction tables translated in full?
Yes, every transaction line, every description and every balance is translated so the statement stays usable by the receiving authority. The original table layout is kept as close as possible to make it easy to compare with the source document.
